What is an Entrepreneur?

An entrepreneur is an individual who accepts financial risks and undertakes new financial ventures. The term applies to any person starting a new project or trying a new opportunity.

Entrepreneurs are important to society as they create new ways that meet the needs of individuals. However, an entrepreneur’s work is never easy and many do not succeed. We believe that an important determinant of success for entrepreneurs is knowledge and network apart from important personal traits. It is this emphasis on knowledge that forms the basis of our Independent Entrepreneurs Summit (IES), a yearly conference for business people.
